György Ligeti a Vesmírna Odyssea

György Ligeti maďarský súčasný skladateľ (May 28, 1923 – June 12, 2006) sa narodil v Rumunskej Transylvánii. Hudbu študoval v Budapešti na Francz Liszt Academy of Music pod vedením Pál Kadosa, Ferenca Farkaša, Zoltána Kodályho a Šándora Vereša. V tomto období sa venoval Rumunskej ľudovej hudbe. Po revolúcii v Maďarsku v roku 1956 odišiel do Viedne a o pár týždňov do Cologne, kde sa prvýkrát stretol s avantgardnou súčasnou hudbou. Najviac ho ovplyvnili Marcus Stockhausen a Gottlieb Michael Koenig. Popri nich yačal študovať súčasné hudobné štýly a metody a pričuchol k elektronickej hudbe. Počas leta sa zúčastnil medzinárodného workshopu pre novú hudbu v Darmstadte.

Okolo roku 1960 sa stal známym a rešpektovaným autorom uvedením jeho prác od Apparitions po Lontano a uvedením opery La Grande Macabre (78). Určite neobíďte jeho klavírne Etudy. Doporučujeme verziu Pierre Laurent Almanda alebo Fredrika Ulléna.

Vec ktorá ho však celosvetovo preslávila bola hudba ku Kubrickovmu filmu Space Odyssey 2001.
